Vastu - The Art Of Living

The term Vastu comes from the Sanskrit word ‘Vastu’ which means the dwelling place of a man or God. Vastu is a part of Vedas (Atharvaveda) which are believed to be 4-5 thousand years old. Vastu principles are scientific and include the position in the hemisphere, geographical location, climate, availability of sunlight, etc. According to Vastu, the spatial geometry of the house should be as follows:

Brahmasthan or the center of the entire house should be empty or as far as possible open to the sky. East belongs to sunrise and so it’s ideal for the main Entrance, study room, Dining room, etc.

This spatial geometry has been designed after keeping in mind the 3 fundamentals of Vastu-Utility, Aesthetics or Visual Delight, and Inner Delight. Vastu is also very important in Landscaping. The role of Vastu is not only for constructed properties. It has a great relationship with openness. Many times landscaping is used for remedies of any Vaastu dosh.
